We don’t really get the four seasons where I live in Arizona, so every year at this time, I pull out my huge bin of “Fake Fall” decorations – the contents of which make me so happy. In it are plastic pumpkins, ceramic pumpkins, and paper mâché pumpkins. Then there’s leaf garlands, burlap, and sunflowers. This year, however, when I put them all up, something about my fall decor didn’t feel right. And it came down to one question. Is White the New Orange?

Stars & Stripes Forever
It’s almost 4th of July and, for me, that means Stars & Stripes Forever. No, really. My birthday is on the 4th of July, and forever people have been giving me gifts with stars & stripes. You wouldn’t believe how many red, white & blue, knick knacks I own. I’ve got old glory on platters, bowls, cups, serving spoons, place mats, table cloths, salt shakers… I really could go on about Stars & Stripes Forever. But, hey, I’m not complaining. I actually really love it. In fact, I decided I’d add to it this year with a little patriotic painting of my own. These projects are so fun, I hope they inspire you to pull out your craft paints. Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy
In need of a quick pick-me-up? The answer could be Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy. It’s amazing how adding a few lemons here and there can brighten up the place and leave you feeling just a little bit happier. Maybe it’s because lemons are the color of sunshine, or maybe it’s because they’re chock full of Vitamin C and contain all sorts of health benefits. What I know for certain is, lemons aren’t just good for consuming, they’re great for decorating…and they may even inspire you to paint. Continue Reading →
Wood Slice Ornaments
These Wood Slice Ornaments are adding just the right decorative touch to my Woodsy Christmas this year, as I tried to avoid the usual tinsel, in lieu of a more “earthy vibe.” Hand-painted and perfectly imperfect, they came not from the store, but from a tree that, up until last spring, was in our backyard. When we were forced to take it down, I saved a piece of the stump and a couple of giant branches. That gave me more than enough material for this year’s Christmas craft project.
Wedding Signs
Love is in the air, and these Wedding Signs are proof! They’re my small contribution to one of my favorite couple’s Big Day. Their wedding is one I’ll most certainly remember for the rest of my life, and not because of the gorgeous aesthetic, but for the way they put God at the center of it all. It was overwhelming, and meaningful, and…. I could go on and on about it. But I know this blog is about the Wedding Signs, so read on, see lots more pictures, and get inspired. There’s no reason you can’t make some personalized signs for an upcoming event! Continue Reading →
Nursery Artwork Painted on Wood

DIY Wooden Sign
Some projects just seem more meaningful than others…and that was the case with this DIY Wooden Sign celebrating adoption. It was needed for a planned photo shoot. And, I must say, when I saw the pictures, my heart positively melted. Of course, you can make this sign say whatever you want, in the color of your choice. This tutorial merely shows you what I used to achieve this sort of distressed, rustic look. Continue Reading →
World Map on Canvas
How do you fill a giant blank wall? That’s a dilemma for lots of folks living in larger homes. But it lead to a really cool project for me, when I was asked to paint a giant World Map on Canvas. In order to make it substantial enough to fill at least 8′ X 4′, we decided to spread it out over four canvases…each measuring 24″ x 48″. This quadtych art came out great, so thought I’d post a few pics showing you how it all came together. Continue Reading →
