Thrift Store Furniture Flip

thrift store furniture flip
There’s nothing like a fun Thrift Store Furniture Flip…and to me, this cheap little side table just screamed “Guitar Pick” from the moment I saw it. My daughter is actually the one who bought it at Goodwill for just $6.  She shares my love for redoing beat up old wood furniture.  The only problem was, this table…while having wooden legs, was topped with cheap veneer.  And it was in really bad shape, to boot! Quirky Quarantine Time Garden

Quirky Quarantine Time Garden

You don’t need me to tell you, these are some strange times we’re living in.  The Coronavirus wasn’t even on my radar a couple of months ago, and now as I write this, I’m doing my part to “flatten the curve” and am adhering to quarantine guidelines.  I pray all of you who follow my blogs are staying healthy and being safe out there.  We’re all in this together.  The way I see it, there’s no room for panic.  Just arm yourself with the facts, use wisdom, and choose faith over fear every time. Simple Fall Touches

Simple Fall Touches

I love Fall.  I didn’t always.  But now that I live in Arizona, where the weather is glorious this time of year, I absolutely love it.  And so, I tend to get a little carried away when it comes to Fall decorating.  In my opinion, you can never have too many pumpkins or fake leaves.  Don’t judge.  The leaves don’t really turn here.  So, if we want to see those gorgeous yellow, orange, and brown hues, we have to embrace the fake.

After adding some Simple Fall Touches to my kitchen, I thought I’d share a few pictures so you can see how easy it is to make your home feel warm, inviting, and seasonally festive.  As a bonus, I’ll throw in the world’s simplest recipe for pumpkin muffins with a brown sugar streusel top.  They’ll make your home even smell like Fall! Sports Themed Playroom

This Sports Themed Playroom is scoring big thanks to a personalized wall mural and a few inexpensive touches. It’s also a perfect example of how being surrounded by the things you love, can turn a mundane room into one of the most used spaces in your home.  Be sure to check out the video tutorial by clicking on the picture above.  I’m also including a written blog with pictures below. DIY Wood Sign

DIY Wood Sign

This DIY Wood Sign is just one example of my recent obsession; creating wood backdrops that are part stain/part paint.  The combination of the two just makes for more interesting artwork.  And it’s so easy to do, I thought I’d share some simple tips that you can try yourself.  Maybe you’ll even experiment with it a bit more. Accent Cabinet Makeover

Accent Cabinet Makeover

I had more than a few doubts when I took on this Accent Cabinet Makeover.  But now that it’s been structurally reinforced, re-painted, and dolled up, I have to admit, it turned out better than I expected.  This poor cabinet was pretty much on its last leg when a friend brought it to me and asked me to -quote- “see what I could do with it.”  I thought it was cute, but it was in really, REALLY bad shape.  Just see for yourself what it looked like before: Continue Reading →

Woodsy Hexagon Wreath

Woodsy Hexagon Wreath

I’m in love with my Woodsy Hexagon Wreath.  It’s perfect in its simplicity, and can easily be decorated for any season by simply changing up the ribbon and greenery.  Best of all, there’s no other one like it anywhere.  The idea for it came when I began noticing hexagons in all sorts of design elements, like kitchen backsplashes, shelving, and even jewelry.  Continue Reading →

Crafty Christmas

Crafty ChristmasHave yourself a very Crafty Christmas!  I certainly am.  For the last couple of months I’ve been up to my eyeballs in building and painting decorations for a candy-themed Christmas party.  (Which explains why I haven’t posted any blogs in a while.)  Now that I’m finally finished, I’m free to move on to other projects, and more importantly, my husband is free to park in the garage again.  Just take a look at how all my Christmas craftiness took over: Continue Reading →
