A pop of color calls attention to a nice feature<\/p><\/div>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 In this particular home, I faux finished the entire kitchen with this rusty olive color, and I used the leftover paint to do the same treatment in these two niches. \u00a0The artwork would have been two small for the space, if it weren’t for the fact there is now something else there for the eye to see.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 In addition to faux finishing these next niches, I also added a little embellishment with paint. \u00a0I first drew the design onto a large piece of paper, folding it in half and then tracing to keep the design symmetrical. \u00a0Then, with graphite paper, I traced my design onto the wall and then painted it.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 This same color scheme is used throughout the home. \u00a0In the living room,\u00a0it was used\u00a0on the coved ceiling.\u00a0 I added a little artistic embellishment to each corner. \u00a0I like to think of it as a little surprise every time you look up. \u00a0(Although, the real\u00a0surprise for me was how sore my neck was after painting the ceiling!)<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 I repeated the same archway pattern seen throughout the home, by painting an archway on the biggest wall in the formal living room. \u00a0This gave me an opportunity to work in a little more of the same faux treatment, as well as introduce a darker color and some artwork.\u00a0 (The narrowing border was actually the homeowner’s idea.\u00a0 I love when they give me direction and show me photos of what they like.\u00a0 Takes all the guess work out of my job.)<\/span><\/p>\n
